MAXIS SUCKS and BLARDY STUP*D
By platinumgirl on Apr 10, 2008 in Coffee Talk
I am so pissed this week. I’ve called Maxis to complain for the fourth or was it fifth time THIS WEEK alone.
Goddamit. Everytime i call, they always ask me the same stupid questions. For the Customer Service Consultantsss who answered my phone, too bad you’re not in a good position !
Typical questions asked by Maxis Consultants
- Can you please check your modem page, what is the network type ..
- What is the RSSI, Cell ID
- Were do you stay ? Which floor ?
- Did you check SpeedTest (HELLO ! The internet is so freaking slow even SpeedTest cannot fully load)
And the damn blardy no 1 statement they are good at .. “Please hold while i check your signal status” or something like that.
I just want a solution. Not call for god-knows-how-many-times or lodge a stupid report just so that after i wait for 2 days for you to tell me “The Signal was okay!”
Worst of all, sometimes i am being put on hold until i get cut off.
During my last call just 10 minutes ago, this consultant asked me to download 2 files of 10.4MB and 21.1MB from their website. Sh*t, now the transfer rate is just 332bytes and 1.82kb. If you know your internet speed and regular download speed, you surely know what that means .. SUPER CAN DIE SNAIL SLOW speed. And the consultant was expecting me to be on hold while the files finishes downloading. I was so angry .. you expect me to wait for how many freaking hours. Estimated Time stated was 5hr 57mins and the other one 2hr 41mins.
I think i want to lodge official complaint to Maxis CEO, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission, and the Ministry of Energy, Water and Communications.
I pay RM98 each month and for what ?????? When i sign up, the blardy Maxis ppl say your area got high speed connection and averagely can get 1MB above. Mind you the RM98 package apparently can go up to 3MB, so they say. MY LEG ar. Guess what i get now, a freaking 16 kb out of the supposedly 1024 kb i shud be getting on average.
Maxis claims that their broadband is 15x faster than dial-up. I think dial-up is even faster than their 16kb speed.
MAXIS, SHAPE UP OR SHIP OUT!

Hahaha… Everyone complain Streamyx, now you complain maxis *LOL*

Irene,
In short, all the ISP providers in Malaysia sucks. Each and every single one. Dont you think so?
What do they think or what the gov thinks? Maybe they think we are some blardy idiots that have no demand for a proper service.

I totaly understand how you feel! I am using Maxis USB broadband and they claimed that it can go up to 3.6MB and my foot… it is always so slow!!! Everytime I called they’ll say “it’s the coverage,ma’m, we can’t do anything.” So pissed!

there is one way to troubleshoot it…..which I call up the Maxis CS before. They told me to remove the sim card from your broadband modem for 10 mins and restart your PC.
I tried that and it works. Probably u can try that.
nice blog btw.

Hi Vivianz and vialentino,
Thanks for visiting my blog.
Vivianz - Maxis sucks big time. 2 thumbs down.
Vialentino - They always say the same thing. Sometimes it works and sometimes no.

Totally agree with you on this.. Please do lodge a complain to Maxis CEO, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission, and the Ministry of Energy, Water and Communications.
I would do so myself, but i know they would’nt care about us none-the-less..

Maxis sucks, Maxis sucks.. If my vocabulary was any better there would be a whole new dictionary on how Maxis sucks…
But then i guess i have to settle with — Maxis sucks!!
Smurfy | May 6, 2008 | Reply
You do should report it to authority, my bb performance is sucker than a retarded snail, it was and it is below 30 kB/s.
I’ve subscribed to maxis 3.6 mbps (equal to 450 kB/s) — 8bit = 1Byte — which mean i could have a minimal under performance download of 60 kB/s (13 %), but almost all of the time, I could only get around 6 kB/s, which is only 48kbps…
I paid RM 138 every month for just 48kbps??,… They’re cheating us native people, we have give them enough time to polish their performance, and they just ignored us..
It’s time to punish that bastard a. krishnan,.. hes such mother fucker son of pig…
So feel pleased, and honored, to bring that dumb shit to courtesy,.. It is a cheat,… Whole Malaysian will support you to bring that ass licker down..
You can just google “Maxis suck” and you’ll find 96,800 result for people complaining about how bad is their service, and it still raising up day by day..
So really, please, please, please lodge a complain to authority, and I think that a street march is the best way…

I’m fed up with these questions. And sometimes they even tell you to “off the modem, turn it on after 3 minutes, if it doesn’t connect, turn it off again, blablabla”

Maxis [Nn]
1. An ISP with the worst Internet Connection compared to the other three ISP in Malaysia.
2. Sucks.

Let me tell you, other than this Maxis broadband problem. I have had many chances to discover when my hand phone shows full 100% Maxis network, but then nobody can ever contact me. All call went into voice mail box. Same if i try to call somebody, even that person is not using the phone and have 100% network bar shows on his phone, i call damn 100 times still went into voice mail box.
I called and complain you know what they tell me? “Take out your sim card and put back, restart your phone”.
Damn, you think i NEVER know how to restart my phone. IT IS NOT THE PHONE PROBLEM. Is the god damn NETWORK problem.
If Maxis station cant sustain with the number of account they are holding, just stop giving new line to customer.
When call the 123(Customer service), they take thousand years to pick up the god damn phone.
It is very usual to hold and listen to the DAMN ADVERTISEMENT and SONGS for > 10 mins.
DAMN IT…>!!

I’m indonesian student studying in malaysia. I am completely pissed off with maxis internet connection!!!
my worse internet provider in Indonesia is much faster that maxis stupid useless internet connection.
they say that max speed is 3.6mb but I never receive more than 50kbps. and at night, the surfing speed is even lower than 1kbps. JUST TO OPEN GOOGLE, I MUST WAIT 2-3 MINUTES!!!!
maxis company is a big liar, they should be sued for lying to the customers.
MAXIS the ultimate liar!!! | Aug 26, 2008 | Reply
“Good”things about maxis internet connection
1. expensive, RM 100 for 3.6MBps
2. liar, I subscribe 3.6MBps but actual speed never reached 50kbps (I live in Sunway)
3. unstable, at night, it takes about 5-10 minutes just to open google page (incredible speed!!!)
4. useless, it takes me around 6 hours just to download a 20MB file (happy waiting!!!)
5. “smart” customer care line, always ask the same question without ever solve the problem
6. when you are at emergency to surf or sent e-mail, sometimes you have to go to cyber cafe even you pay RM100/ month for your internet
7. I post this “compliment” without my maxis modem, I use my neighbour wireless. the wireless signal is only one bar but its much faster than my maxis (the maxis modem is right beside my laptop!!).
8. when you go to complain to the office. the staff might say “try to move your modem”,”you live in sunway, the signal should be good”.”other else, I can’t help you”
MAXIS the ultimate liar!!! | Sep 1, 2008 | Reply
I use Maxis too, and the speed is about one quarter to one third of the speed they promised, which is not reasonable at all in the least, although my situation seems to be better than yours.
Unfortunately, my connection doesn’t even work half the time. It could just die when I’m the middle of something important. it doesn’t work HALF THE TIME. AND I’m paying 86 bucks a month for a (supposedly) 386 kbs download spped. Guess what speed I’m getting - an average of 8.6 kilobits a seconds.
I’ve never called Maxis to complain (although I have been planning on doing it for quite some time now) because I’m afraid that it would be a waste of phone credit.
And your rant just proved my prediction right.
As I’m typing this, the connection just died AGAIN for the 67867894532th time today.
Useless waste of money Maxis. | Sep 21, 2008 | Reply
test results is very very good. but the actual browsing speed or any file download is really slow. this really sucks.
kumar | Mar 24, 2009 | Reply
Yeah, I had a slow browsing too. The problem is the 3G (HSPDA or UMTS) connection, when I switch to GSM and use EDGE to connect to internet, it will little bit faster, but for sure we want 3G. Yesterday, the technician come and he only take the bandwith reading. Then the problem still not settle.
1 more about the postpaid services, Maxis should be sued for this. Before I suscribe 50 monthly commitment package, nobody told me that if ur usage do not exceed RM50, you must pay TOTAL RM50+your usage that month. Example,if you using only RM 49 that month, use must pay RM50+RM49=RM99. What the f**k. They only said that u only need to pay RM50 even ur usage not exceed RM50. Then what the hell I need to pay 49 for? To make Ananda Krishnan more kaya raya. I going to switch to another telco, and I advice everybody should do the same.

This post is one of my ‘famous’ post. I am still facing problems with Maxis. The reason i am staying with Maxis for now is because i am worried that if i change to Streamyx, the problem is the same - meaning waste of time and effort to change. Digi is so so and Celcom is not that good from what i heard. P1 Wimax i am not sure and like the others, i dont want to risk it.
Maxis customer service is practically useless as like you all said .. they only follow a set of standard question to ask and answers to give to complainants like us. Utterly useless.
platinumgirl | May 24, 2009 | Reply
Hi there platinum girl, I too had complaint on my blog on Maxis’ dismal performance. Bandar Utama by the way.
I can’t imagine how they can continue claiming 3600kbps when no one had ever experienced anything faster than 100kbps. In fact, my average speed is from 2kbps - 45kbps. Yes, slower than dial up modem.
Now I settled with streamyx, at least my web pages load, my songs get downloaded at normal acceptable speeds. I would say averaging around 200kbps even thou we sign up with the 1MB package.
The problem with all our ISPs, is that the government isn’t even giving a rat’s shit about it. Giving out licenses for them to operate, yet not enforcing them to make sure their services are at least usable.
Any Tom Dick and Harry with some connection with the government (or umnoputeras themselves) can open a new whatever P2345 Max to the Wax company and start putting up billboards every where, claiming whatever rocket, highway, space shuttle, ufo speeds, and then quietly accepting 100,000 subscribers with capacities that only caters to 1000.
The fact is the government which is still playing sand with Perak’s tree, carrying elected people out of parliament, busy buying Mitsubishi Evo X for our Policemen who betrays their law enforcement spirits for RM10…. who cares about broadband subscribers?
It really sucks, Maxis gave empty promises, I’ve used my broadband for a year, and that full 365 days was spent wishing for a better tmrw - which never comes.
I used to settle all my Maxis bills, now i would only settle the minimum amount needed to make sure my line won’t get cut. That’s it. Screw them big time, and Mr Sandip Das (CEO of Maxis), “You are not doing a good job.” Whatever your shareholders say, I couldn’t care much, but you should just go back to India and we prefer a Singaporean on board, someone who had experiences with Singtel or whichever Telco in Singapore. Thank you.

Hi all. Thanks for your comments. Indeed Maxis still sucks even as of today (more than 1 year after i post this).
Hoping that Digi Broadband is reliable. Digi published a min speed expectation which is about 700kbps for the Explore package. I think that is good enough compared to Maxis’ stupid snail speed of worst than Dialup or just an average 100-200kbps.
platinumgirl | Jun 25, 2009 | Reply
My advice is, switch to digi broadband if your area is covered.
The 1st week I subscribed to digi broadband as soon as it was launched in Kota Kinabalu, the average speed was 1000 to 1300 kbps despite their promised average of 700kbps only. File download speed was at average of 110 to 150KB/s.
Then it drops. BUT, a big BUT, it’s still having an average speed of 200 to 385 kbps. Another BIG BUT this is happened in the area I leave only (though within the coverage of 3G). Outside area still remains the same good speed. Always hanging around 800 to 1200 kbps.
I called helpline and they confirmed there was a problem with my area and will rectify it. Unfortunately, the speed remains the same, at EDGE speed (max 384kbps). The last time I checked, even with EDGE, it is still MUCH MORE better than your case.
Before the problem exist, I can watch youtube WITHOUT any delay. Buffering was much more faster than playing. It means I can watch without lagging AT ALL.
The was ONCE when I shocked with the incredible fast speed in surfing and decided to have a speed test. You guess what I got? A 13+,+++ kbps (don’t read wrongly, it was 13.++Mpbs!!! This was a FASTEST internet connection I have ever seen in Malaysia and guess won’t be able to see it again at lease for years to come
Thereafter, back to around EDGE speed again, which I think is still much more batter compared to yours.
I don’t have experience with “MASUX”, but the last time when I try “CELCUX”, I was worse than 56k dial-up.
Think again!

Maxis speed is so slow and I cannot connect to many websites. Contacted them and the technician has no idea why. Decided to terminate and now I have to pay RM200. It is so unfair!! Please do not ever use Maxis! I hope this company will get what they deserve for conning millions of Ringgit from their customers. I paid for 3.6Mbps and I get less than 384Kbps.
