Hong Kong Cuisine, 3rd Exchange Kuching

I’ve been exploring more of the eating outlets in 3rd Exchange of late. Hong Kong Cuisine caught us simply because of the signboard that says Hong Kong cuisine, but i doubted that. True enough, after browsing through their menu and asking their staff, they do not serve any Hong Kong dishes as what their signboard might have implied. Pretty good marketing gimmick i would say.

Hong Kong Cuisine

The chef had previously worked in Chef Special, a restaurant located in Central Park nearby to SCR facing the 3rd Mile roundabout. Anyway, the restaurant has 2 floors. The ground floor is only 1 shoplot but they have a larger place upstairs with private rooms. OMG, Teh-C and i have been eating out a lot in the past few weeks, i think i seriously need some Los Angeles liposuction done. LoL

What we ordered …

littlehongkong_mixedvege.JPG Mixed Vegetable @ RM8

Didnt know what vege to order as its always the same - baby kailan la, brinjal la, long beans la - so i ordered mixed vege, a little of everything :)

littlehongkong_butterfish.JPG Butter Fish @ RM10

Thinly sliced fish meat coated in batter and deep-fried. Later covered in sweet butter milk sauce. The portion was quite big i would say and my portion of big is big, compared to people’s portion of big which is actually just small.

Mix Juice Chicken Mix Juice Chicken @ RM8

This is crispy deep fried chicken thigh with mix juice chicken. Initially didnt want to order this. Here is my conversation with the waiter :

PG : So what chicken dishes do you recommend ?
W : You can try the Mix Juice chicken.
PG : What do you mean by mix juice ? Is it orange juice ?
W : No, its mix juice.
PG : So there is no orange juice used ?
W : There is some orange juice and lemon juice.

The verdict. The sauce tasted orangey .. haha .. but its not entirely just orange juice, its orange + lemon .. LOL …. But seriously, this dish was alright.

We last minute ordered a soup, Corn with crab meat @ RM6. No pics but the soup was so nice. The right amount of thickness (its thick type) and lots of crab meat and it was very fragrant and not overly salty nor tasteless, though more corn should be added.

It was a filling dinner. I think i overeat until i become heavy and my joints become painful. Someone pass me some osteoarthritis relief.
