My KL Trip - Day 3
By platinumgirl on Oct 26, 2007 in Foods Galore, Shopping & Travel
Haha, finally have the time to write this post about my 3rd day’s adventure in KL. This is the third of four installment of my KL trip. Yeah yeah i know that its long overdue. But feast your eyes on the following foodie adventures …
Had breakfast in a nearby coffeeshop, which is just a short 1 min walk. The coffeeshop is called KK Kopitiam. Its pretty near the Kuchai Lama food court actually. Had this noodle for the first time in my life.
Its called Beijing Mee and i had the one with pork chop. The noodles are handmade i think and the taste is pretty bland as its just mixed with soy sauce and some oil. But oh my, the pork chop is really tasty and its really tender too. There is also some blanched cabbage and this deep-fried flour skin, probably wantan skin. Forgotten the price but if not mistaken, its RM3.50.
Dad had a bad toothache which started since he reached KL, so he opted for Wantan Mee. It was normal, not the best he had though.
After breakfast, we headed to my coufu’s place in Kajang. It appears that he is a rabbit breeder because he had a lot of rabbits in his house compound and i mean a lot ! He had at least 7 adults and even 5 to 6 baby rabbits. Speaking of rabbits, i recalled that one of my male friends had once insisted on getting a tattoo symbol of a rabbit, until his girlfriend convinced him that he would look sissy with it. LoL

We left my coufu’s place at around 12pm and my dad went to pick up his friend. Well, actually he’s my relative, my grandad’s brother’s son. How should i address him ? I just call him by his name as its been that since forever and in our family we don’t really have a strict call-by-status system. We had lunch in Uptown Damansara. No pics because we simply went into a coffeeshop and ate “chap fan” (fast food).
Still wanted to get that Ikea Mammut Stool for my boy so we all went to Ikea (once again) after lunch. Lucky for me, the stool was available. But i end up buying a Mammut chair instead. Bought it because it had a ‘back’ so that my boy wont fall behind. Its more costly too. The stool costs Rm19.90 but the chair cost me RM59. Here is how it looks
The nice looking but expensive plastic chair
We went to each department and looked at all the stuff . They have very nice household decorative items, kitchen, house and office furniture. After Ikea, we went to The Curve which is actually the building across the road. I went looking for baby stores as I wanted to find some swim diapers for my baby. Not even one store had it, well except for Mothercare but their sizes available are quite small and its pretty expensive too at about RM60++. Then its mum-mum time again. You would not go hungry in The Curve as they have lots and lots of restaurants and cafes perched in there. Didnt want anything to heavy, so i opted for Sakae Sushi. This is actually a pretty popular Japanese restaurant, but more so for their outlet in 1-U because they serve japanese buffet at a reasonable price. Pictures Pictures

(Left) Kappa maki (cucumber maki) (Right) Forgot the name but its tuna maki with cheese on top (slurrp !)
(Left) Deep fried soft shell crab (RM7.90) (Right) Avovado Roll (RM1.90)
Everything was great except for the stupid soft shell crab which was limp and soggy with oil. Eeeew ! Total bill was only about RM36. My treat.
Later that night, we had dinner at the food court in Kuchai Lama again.
(Left) Sambal lala (clams) RM10. Kinda expensive actually considering the small portion
(Right) Nasi Lemak with mutton curry. Price is RM3.50. Boleh lah
And that wraps up my third day in KL. One more part to go. Its the last one ![]()

Hi Peter. Thanks for dropping by. I’m not so into Bak Kut Teh, but i’ve tried nice ones in Pandan Indah.
