My KL Trip - Day 2
By platinumgirl on Oct 19, 2007 in Foods Galore, Shopping & Travel
Omg i’m so sorry for the lack of posts the past 2 days. Been a bit busy during the day and during the night, i was a tad too tired to switch on my notebook, work on my pictures and write posts. Anyhoo, this is the second part of my US Orlando vacations. Eh eh, KL trip la. Lets drool on some food pictures, shall we ?
Woke up quite early that day as I had a mission to complete, well 2 missions actually. My dad and I went for breakfast along the famous Jalan Alor. We didnt have any specific place to go for breakfast in mind and it just so happen that parking was easy in the early morning. I seriously forgot the name of the coffeeshop we had our breakfast but it was in the middle on the left side of the road. Take note that next to this coffeeshop, you could see so many blow-up floaties of cartoon characters hung on the tree.
My dad’s char kuh teow (CKT) RM3.50, which according to my dad was not very nice.
My chee cheong fun lor. I had “sam kin” (3 pieces) of the fun itself plus some Yong Tau Foo ingredients that commonly goes together with CCF. I usually only take CCF with sweet sauce. No chili and no curry sauce for me please. Cant recall the price of this. If not mistaken, its RM0.70 or RM0.80 for each piece (fun & YTF ingredients).
In the afternoon, dad’s friend brought us for lunch at this restaurant in Pandan Indah. Haiya, so sorry cos i cant seem to find the pictures or did i not take any pictures ? Hmm.
Bla bla bla. Went to complete mission 2 and then we head back to Kuchai lama to take bath cos we smelled horribly. By the time we reached, it was already 6 something. We were so hungry and immediately went for dinner. at the Kuchai Lama food court. Behold ….
I spotted this stall selling Fried Mushrooms. What on earth is that ? I just gotta order to try it.
Tadaaa … my fried mushrooms. They had 2 types, the normal heong ku (black mushrooms) and the abalone mushrooms. I ordered the small plate of mixed mushrooms and it wasnt cheap as it cost me RM7.50 for the above babies, which came accompanied by a homemade green chili sweet sauce. The mushrooms were super delicious as they were deep fried in batter till golden and crispy. Nothing fungal smelling here. It tasted like crispy mushroomy wedges. Mmm mmm ! Super yummy !
I also ordered a bowl of pan mee for Rm3.50. The taste was quite good. Springy handmade noodles in clear soup with vege and topped with crispy anchovies.
After dinner and freshened up ourselves, I asked dad to bring me to Ikea as i wanted to buy this cute looking stool for my baby. Reached Ikea around 8.30pm. Tough luck cos it so happen that the stool was out of stock and they asked me to check back the next day. Darn it.
I managed to try the Daim cake (RM4.50) in the Ikea cafe. May not be your cuppa tea bcos it was very sweet. It tasted like those Daim chocolates but i think having this cake is perhaps far cheaper as it seems they used Daim choc sparingly. Anyway, we left Ikea and dad went to pick up his 2 friends for a late supper in Cheras area.
My thai coconut drink. No idea how much it cost. It was very refreshing.
We all shared a big plate of hokkien mee + beehoon and one cantonese kueh tiaw. Funny, i didnt fancy the cantonese kueh tiaw despite having constant cravings for it when i was in Kuching. No pic of the kueh tiaw as i was busy eating and lazy to take pics. We also had mutton satay. After supper, we head back home to rest.
So that was the end of my 2nd day trip in KL. So how, are you drooling now ?
