Unappetizing Pasta
By platinumgirl on Sep 2, 2007 in Foods Galore
The other day i was at Choice Daily supermarket, one of the local supermarkets that sells lots of imported products, and I bought a jar of pasta sauce, which i have never tried before and a pack for spaghetti. The pasta sauce sounded interesting … Mushroom with Red Wine. It was pretty cheap too … hehehe, abt RM6.90 i think.
The brand was Raguletto. Imported stuff and established brand from Australia.
So i cooked a late nite supper on the very same day. Spaghetti with pasta sauce. Cooked the spaghetti for about 10 mins until al-dente. Heat up the pan and pour the pasta sauce and simmer for a few minutes. I poured the sauce into a bowl without trying it. Tried the sauce. Ermm, so sour. Back into the pan and added some sugar. Tasted better. Put some spaghetti pasta into my plate, scooped some pasta sauce and garnished with parmesan cheese. Eeeeeew, it just tasted weird. If i just eat like that, i will soon require a colon cleanse.
How am i going to salvage my spaghetti ? I cant eat it on its own. Then i remembered i had some frozen spicy chicken in the freezer. Told Teh-C that i needed the chicken to accompany the pasta or else die la. Heated up enough oil in a small pot (why pot and not a wok you may ask .. easier to wash ma). When the oil was hot enough, i put some fried chicken meat into the pot. Deep-fried chicken, yummy ! Once the chicken meat were done, i hurriedly scooped it up and ate it together with the pasta. Not bad, it could cover the yucky pasta sauce’s flavor and made the pasta more edible.
Again, sorry cos no pics cos i didnt take any. It was already 10pm something, which was quite late. Hungry - Cook - Try - Cook again and Eat ! Bon Appetito !

Hi Zara’s mama,
Barilla brand not found here. Here the common ones are Raguletto and Prego. Sigh.
