Here are some old pics from my honeymoon in one of the most developed city in the largest country in Asia …. where else but Shanghai, China.
The Xiao Long Bao (meat dumplings) makers at a famous shop in a Shanghai market. The queue was so long. If i am not mistaken, the price was 8 yuan (around RM4) for 10 succulent and juicy dumplings. Cheap but the queue can be very long as many tourists line up to try these babies.
Dim Sums. So many to choose ….
Bowls of tong sui (dessert) .. all nicely laid out
Snacks sold at one of the stalls in the famous market. The brown honey-comb-looking on the stick is some deep-fried sticky centered snack. It was sweet but interesting. The Chinese have all sorts of interesting snacks, some delicious and some not.
Fresh fishes for you to pick and eat from. Nah, just kidding. These are the tons of beautiful fishies in the pond within the market.
Salivating now ? I forgot the name of this market. I think its the Nanjing Road market.
Shanghai is really a developed city. You can even see 5 stories highway. They have very big shopping complexes but i felt that shopping in the complex is ‘unappetizing’. They dont really have shops like in our local shopping complex. Rather, they have a whole department store and each company have their own booth / counter. Kinda confusing but the shopping places are very organized. They are usually located on the whole stretch of the road and the roads are very spacious with many people walking around and shops left and right. They even have shops in the underground walkway. Fascinating ! That time, because of the availability of numerous cheap products in China, it had came to mind that there was a big business opportunity. But until today, no action ahahahha
