Taking care of elderly parents
By platinumgirl on Aug 28, 2007 in Banking Input, Home & Parenting
I am the eldest child in my family, as such I am more mature (not praising myself but thats the truth) compared to my other younger siblings. I tend to think about the future a lot, on what might happen and how i will go about handling that situation. One of the main thing that i worry the most would be my parents. Questions and questions pop in my head : How their health will be when they get older? How am i going to take care of them? Can i take care of them financially and physically?
Its tough. But if I am working all the time, then who is going to take care of them? Will i be brave enough to send them to a nursing home if i can afford to? There isnt many nursing home or senior long-term care facilities here anyway. But if there is a lot, which do i choose ? Which is better than the other …..
If you’re in the US and you’re looking for information on San Francisco assisted living and nursing homes, why dont you subscribe to Gilbert Guide, where you can gain access to a directory of the best senior care facilities plus comprehensive reviews. Not only that, you’ll get instant online access to over 1,440 senior care provider listings in New York, Philadelphia, Dallas/Fort Worth and Los Angeles.

Old pppl should not rely on young ppl like us to take care of them. They’re difficult and fussy. I will take care of Momo if she pays me to do so.

hi there. i share you’re same concerns about my famliy. they are ranchers in SD. my grandparents are still living independently… for now. as i travel and work on my art, i worry about this. the conclusion that i came to is this: i’m 39 now, and when something happens (and things always do) i WILL respond. i will go there, i will take care of them, i will do what ever it takes to provide the best care for them, and honour them, and make their last days as comfortable and peaceful as i possibly can. they did this for me as a child. i love them dearly. i already have an apartment nearby, with in 20 min. my biggest struggle now is to just stay afloat… because of my own problems from a rough life of construction, fishing, and racing.
you take care! may my God guide you, bless you, and reward you for your sincerity. robb
