Sneak Peak on My Penang Trip
By platinumgirl on Jul 19, 2007 in Coffee Talk, Shopping & Travel
As i am not able to finish my Penang post yet, I just want to give you all a sneak peak, a simple summary of my trip from Kuching to Penang. No exact dates will be given.
Flew from Kch - Penang on Friday nite.
Only 1 evening flight out of Kuching to Penang on alternate days. Guess what? I met a lady friend and her family who is on the same plane with me and back as well. Her baby boy is adorable and can babble a lot, just like mine
Firstly let me tell you that I was suppose to be flying on Thursday and take the flight back on Tuesday from Penang - Kch. as booked on my ticket. 2 weeks before the flight date, i received a blardy depressing SMS from our not so beloved budget airline, AirAsia (yes ! i am using airasia) that the flight back has been changed to the next day. Shoot AA. Because of this, I will need to stay an extra nite in Penang and I needed to see my superior and change my leave. Ok, fine.
Then about a week before, someone from AA called me and asked me if i know about the flight changes and i said yes and i bombed him for doing that and asked him who the heck is going to pay for my extra nite. Initially i thought that i needed to stay an extra night but then i was informed by the blardy AA staff that my flight TO Penang itself has also been changed to the next day. I shouted and said that I didnt know about that and I didnt receive any sms about that either. He said “Oh, then i will need to check the sms log”. Yeah rite, as if he is gonna do that.
Anyway, back to Penang. We reached Penang before 9pm and so we proceeded to take our luggage and then went on to buy the taxi coupon. Waited for the taxi and then checked in to our hotel. —-Details will be posted later —– After freshening up, we went for supper. There are a lot of stalls and shops still open despite the fact that it was already 10.30pm or so.
2nd, 3rd, 4th 5th and the 6th (last) day in Penang
We went to several places, namely Penang Hill (aka Bukit Bendera), Kek Lok Si, Butterfly Farm, Tropical Fruit Farm, Prangin Mall, Queensbay Mall, Gurney Plaza, Island Plaza. Tried 2 of Penang’s most famous Char Kueh Teow (CKT) and also tried a famous Dim Sum shop, Nasi Kandar, Chee Cheong Fun and a famous Hainan Chicken Rice, which was also one of the top Hainanese chicken rice shops in NTV7’s Top 10 Hainan Chicken Rice in Malaysian show.
Details will provided in my complete Penang travel write-up. There are photos to accompany the post (which i hope i can do soon) but there arent that many, cos i was busy carrying my boy who was hanging on close to me and was kinda reluctant to even have his daddy carry him.
