Those of you who have read the papers yesterday might have known that our national carrier, Malaysian Airlines (MAS), is having a great promotion or sale. From 9am today until this Friday, we are supposedly able to buy tickets from just RM1 only (excluding taxes, surcharges and etc). Aside from that, for the following 3 months, there will be supersavers and cheap fares too. From Kuching to Kuala Lumpur, only RM10 one way (exc taxes). That is pretty cheap for MAS.

Me and a bunch of friends were looking forward to this so called Sale today. Opened the site MALAYSIA AIRLINES. No problem. Tried to make a booking. Select the departure and destination, date etc. Click Submit and guess what, there was a freaking coding error displayed. Tried that a couple times to no avail. Then the site was down from 9.30am until now, which is around 12pm. The site couldnt load.

Now i see this message displayed

“Dear Valued Customer,

Due to overwhelming response, our server is currently busy. Please try again later. If you would like to make an urgent booking, kindly contact our Ticketing Offices or Call Centre at 1300-88-3000. Thank you!”

That is just so unacceptable. You are the National Carrier for pete’s sake and you have offices worldwide. You planned this damn sale and should have anticipated the server’s heavy load because of this. MAS, please step aside for Air Asia la. I dont have the stupidest idea how will you fight with AA. Even when AA offered free seats (RM0, zilch, except that you have to pay taxes and etc), which is better than what MAS is offering, i have never come across a problem such as the whole site cannot load for hours.

Its a freaking waste of time.
