Wishing Well, Kuching

Last week, I went out for lunch with the man of the house (my hubby, “MAN”). We were around Padungan area and so decided to head to Song Kheng Hai food stall area there for lunch. MAN was craving for Ang Tao Peng, which is some icy dessert with sweetened red beans, evaporated milk and a dash of grenadine and sarsi cordial. The drinks at Song Kheng Hai are pretty cheap. I can get a glass of Ice Milo for just Rm1.20, compared to around RM1.60-1.80 in normal coffeeshops around Kuching. Unfortunately, the stall wasnt opened.

Since the recently opened Wishing Well was just a stone’s throw away, we parked the car beside the place and head in. First impression, the place is very narrow. The tables were small, just enough for 2 persons only. Sorry i forgot to take pics of the shop front and the tables.

The waitress came and pass the menu. Hmmm, drinks arent cheap and food prices are so-so. Not very expensive but also not cheap

Wishing Well is divided into 3 parts. One part of the shop is the coffeeshop eating area, the middle eating area (the fountain section) and the back, which is a bar. There is also a an upper floor but it wasnt opened. Wonder what the heck that is for.

I had Iced Jasmine Apple Tea @ RM3.90 whereas MAN had Iced Jasmine Tea @ Rm2.90. My drink was so so, not sweet enough. It was just Jasmine Tea with some apple flavoring. Food was just a serving of Fish & Chips to share bcos MAN was still full from breakfast. Nothing special about the Fish & Chips. The fish was strips deep fried in batter.

I dont see myself going back to this place for a second time. Staff service was just so so la. Dont smile one. Sienz. Sorry for the poor picture quality as it was taken using a phone camera. But then again, my photography skills using my 4MP camera isnt that great anyway.
